- Planktonic; colonial, colony disc shaped, 4-64 or more celled, cells arranged in a single layer,
 Perforations in colony present or absent; Marginal cells with or without processes;
Chloroplast Single, parital with one or more pyrenoid.

- Common in Fresh water lentic bodies of India.
